Kinsey & Tyler
Kinsey and Tyler, an amazing couple from Raleigh, NC were encouraged to check out The Barn by a dear friend. When meeting them and hearing their ideas, needs, and desires I knew that we would be a perfect fit for this stunning couple. The site visits were limited to brief enjoyable brain storming sessions when they were in town. Even though these encounters were limited I really got a feel for the couple and knew that this would be a fun wedding. They kept me laughing throughout their visits to The Barn and I felt like I had really gotten to know them, which is what wedding planning is all about to me and makes it so enjoyable. Kinsey expressed in our very first meeting her desire to keep the floral elements simple and expressed how she didn’t really consider herself to be “big on flowers”. I think we captured this perfectly with her bouquets and the dressing of the arbor with white hydrangeas by Amber Lanier. It was simple, elegant, and breathtaking, much like the bride on her wedding day. Tyler, wanting to surprise her, secured a Rolls Royce for their first ride as Mr. and Mrs. McNeely. Thank you Kinsey and Tyler for trusting The Barn at Rock Creek with your wedding day.
Lindsay & Cody
Lindsay and Cody Hummell, of Southport, NC, were married at The Barn on July 9, 2016. The casual country chic ceremony was held at our main ceremony site with 100 of their closest friends and family in attendance. Her grandfather, Pastor Bill Wrenn, officiated the ceremony in a way that only the grandfather of the bride could. It was a touching ceremony and the pride and happiness that Pastor Bill felt was palpable. The reception was elegant with it’s simplicity. Cody was in the military and to pay homage to his service there were American flags scattered about outside. We would like to thank this young couple for allowing The Barn at Rock Creek the opportunity to host and plan their wedding, and to thank Cody for his service to our country.

Craig + Taylor
Craig + Taylor 04.02.16
Upon meeting Craig and Taylor we realized that we had very good mutual friends. The first meeting about the wedding was probably 20% about the wedding and 80% about road trips and life experiences. We had an instant connection. In all of our time working with Bride and Grooms we have never encountered a more laid back couple. Craig and Taylor’s main focus was enjoying their guests, their wedding day, and sincerely soaking it all in. The decor was simple yet elegant, using geodes and crystal with dried sage and lavender to adorn the tables. The bride’s father, Dan Chapman, made the table numbers out of unfinished wood that paired perfectly with the other elemental decor. Our favorite part of this wedding (if we have to pick one) is the story about Craig, who is the co-owner of Wagon Werks, working tirelessly on his fathers ’64 Chevy, that he used to get dropped off at school in. After spending at least 40+ hours working on it he finally had it ready to roll on their wedding day. It was the perfect getaway car for these two free spirits to begin their happily ever after.
